The Farm at Walnut Creek (Video)

Daddy: ”Why are you tripping, is it your shoes?”
The Kid: (silent)
Daddy: ”Oh well, let’s play balloon-ball.”
The Kid: “Yes, we’ll understand the problem later.”

While in Ohio last week we visited the Farm at Walnut Creek. Here’s a video featuring some critters we encountered there.

Daddy: ”Wubie, get off the chair please, Wubie.”
The Kid: “I don’t think cats understand you.”

The Farm

Earlier this week we visited the Farm at Walnut Creek, a place chock-full of animals one wouldn’t normally associate with Ohio.

We took a tour of the farm via a horse drawn wagon. As we tromped onto the wagon, our Amish guide motioned to the buckets of feed at our feet and informed us that we could feed the animals during our trek. And with that info we were off.

As we toured the farm, it quickly became obvious the animals knew the drill. They sauntered straight up to us, well practiced in all sorts of trickery designed to separate us from our treats.

Camels, giraffes, kangaroos, tortoises, peacocks, ostriches, emus, deer, llamas, pigs, porcupines, and zebras were just some of the animals we encountered.

I think the ostriches and emus were my favorites. The guide said they were the world’s largest birds. They acted as if they were well aware of this fact.

The kid had fun.
