“It’s a hotel after all.”
— the kid, when asked to name her favorite Disneyland ride

We just spent four days at Disneyland and I’m actually quite surprised to say that we happily would’ve spent even more time there.

I’m sure we’ll be posting lots of words and pictures. For now, here’s a video of our time there.

The Farm at Walnut Creek (Video)

Daddy: ”Why are you tripping, is it your shoes?”
The Kid: (silent)
Daddy: ”Oh well, let’s play balloon-ball.”
The Kid: “Yes, we’ll understand the problem later.”

While in Ohio last week we visited the Farm at Walnut Creek. Here’s a video featuring some critters we encountered there.

Daddy: ”Wubie, get off the chair please, Wubie.”
The Kid: “I don’t think cats understand you.”

The Farm

Earlier this week we visited the Farm at Walnut Creek, a place chock-full of animals one wouldn’t normally associate with Ohio.

We took a tour of the farm via a horse drawn wagon. As we tromped onto the wagon, our Amish guide motioned to the buckets of feed at our feet and informed us that we could feed the animals during our trek. And with that info we were off.

As we toured the farm, it quickly became obvious the animals knew the drill. They sauntered straight up to us, well practiced in all sorts of trickery designed to separate us from our treats.

Camels, giraffes, kangaroos, tortoises, peacocks, ostriches, emus, deer, llamas, pigs, porcupines, and zebras were just some of the animals we encountered.

I think the ostriches and emus were my favorites. The guide said they were the world’s largest birds. They acted as if they were well aware of this fact.

“What a party night! Listen to my song, it’s a lovely little song! Oh boy, playing with cousins tomorrow! I’m so excited my hair bands might pop off!”
— Tke kid, while simultaneously watching 5 fireworks displays, airplanes taking off, and waiting for room service from our room on the tenth floor of the Hyatt Regency at Pittsburgh Int’l Airport.

Here are a few pics from our trip to Sugarcreek, Ohio. The kid’s been having lots of fun getting to know her brand new (to her) cousins. Additional pics can be found here and we’ll definitely be posting a lot more very soon.

Luau

Lucy, Auntie, Uncle, Gpa, Daddy and Mommy all went to an authentic luau at the Kona Village Resort on Friday night. It was a great way to spend our last night on the big island before we head over to Oahu.

There were songs and dances and great food. Lucy wasn’t scared of the dancers, even the rather intimidating Maori warriors, she was only a little scared between dances when it was dark. She loved the drum beats and even swayed along with the hulas, and clapped for every dance. There was also a keiki dance, put on by all the kids who attended the luau. Lucy was a bit young to join in, maybe next time!

Hard to get pics at night, but here are some of the better ones.
