Trip

4.5 Years, 5 States, 1 Week

“I don’t like my cantaloupe, it looks too orange-ish!”
— The Kid

So, a short while back the kid visited five states she’d never before experienced. All in one week. Not bad for a four and a half year old; I bet there’s a fair amount of Americans who haven’t visited five states in their entire lives.

Ohio (Cropped)

Here’s how it worked out:

  1. We got on a plane that stopped off in Phoenix, Arizona.
  2. From there we took a plane to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
  3. From there we drove a car through West Virginia.
  4. From there we continued driving to to Sugarcreek, Ohio.
  5. Once our vacation was over, we took a plane that stopped of in St. Paul, Minneapolis.

I think all together the kid has been to eight different states (the above plus, CA, HI, and OR) so far. That’s a pretty good start for our little traveler.

Lucy’s first luau

Lucy’s First Luau from Jill C on Vimeo.

Lucy went to her first luau on her first trip to Hawaii back in January. She likes to look at videos of herself  ‘as a baby,’ so we came across this in our quest for new stuff to watch. She has changed so much since then!

The luau was at the Kona Village Resort in Kona, Hawaii. We were there with Grandpa Peter, Auntie Laura and Uncle John. This was a really special trip and we were glad to share it with them.

Here’s some video we took during our time in Oahu earlier this month. The beach shots are from the coast of Lanikai in Kailua. For more info, check out this post.

People and Places (2000-2008)

Here’s a 9+ minute epic of pics taken from 2000 – 2008 in England, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Monterey, and Half Moon Bay. All pics were taken during time spent with Jill’s family.

Boy, it’s the little projects like these that make me think, “man, time is really sprinting by, blowing a raspberry as it laps me once again, shouting FAIL!”

(But then again, time wears these really gaudy lycra tracksuits and looks like a total tool, so that makes me feel a little better.)
