Flying to Kauai
“Only if you chase me. That is my question of society.”
— Lucy, trying to get a parent to chase her
We spent most of our time yesterday traveling, our destination the Hawaiian Islands, Kauai to be exact. The plane flight was uneventful (a good thing) and the five plus hours in the air afforded me the chance to finish off a really good book:
“Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption“
After catching a connecting flight on Oahu, we touched down at LIH in Kauai. We grabbed a car, a Ford Flex, and promptly hit the local Costco to pick up some essentials.
From there, we were off to Jim and Tisa’s place. Jill discovered a power outlet in the back of the Flex, plugged in her Droid Incredible and fired up the GPS. As we drove, I marveled at the landscape. Lots of green leafy stuff. Big skies of azure splashed here and there with with roving gangs of cumulus clouds. Steep, jagged mountains jutted up, greeting the skies.
I really like the weather so far, humid but with a nice breeze. Once we got to Jim and Tisa’s place, we marveled at the work they’d done to their house. The backyard is pretty incredible, like their own private jungle. We’ll be sure to post lots of pics and videos.
