Year One (pt 2)

This is the other part of the “Year One” video I posted earlier today. All pics used in these two videos have been arranged chronologically. ‘Part 1′ concentrates on the first half of 2007, “part 2″ the latter half.

Year One (pt 1)

I’m going through our old pics with the idea of making video collages for each year. I’m starting with 2007, our first year with the kid. This is the first of a two part ‘Year One’ vid. Going through these pics brings back  a bunch of memories. A few:

More Photos by Lucy

Lucy loves taking pictures w/ her mom’s camera. Above are a few she took over the weekend.

We actually got her an inexpensive “kid’s” digital camera that’s supposed to be waterproof (something we’ll no doubt test the next time ol’ shtinky takes a bath). However, its lack of an lcd viewscreen severely dampens the kid’s interest in it. She’s sticking w/ mom’s camera for now.

Every six months or so, I put together a compilation pic showing how Lucy has changed over the previous half year. This is the third in the series.

Done With Taxes, I Think

Yay. We’ve finally completed our tax returns (yep, we did ‘em a bit late this year.) To celebrate the occasion, I thought I’d recycle an old post from Wubert’s site.Yep, there are some taxes that never seem to go away…

Here’s another quick video showing off the fun one can have with moving boxes. Yep, in addition to being great material for the building of forts, moving boxes can also be used to bully wobbly babies (especially if they’re under two and a half feet tall)!

Lucy’s constantly grabbing at the miscellaneous gadgets her mom & dad always seem to be fussing with (cameras, laptops, phones, etc.). So, we actually gave in the other day and let Lucy take control of the camera and snap away with it. Above is just a sampling of how the world looks to someone who’s about two and a half feet tall.

Oy, They Grow Up Fast (#2)

Faces

Since we’re nearing the end of the year, I thought I’d post another batch of photos to illustrate how the kid has grown and changed over the last twelve months.

The first six pics (Jan – Jun) were originally published in a post entitled, Oy, They Grow Up Fast from June 8th, 2007.

Whenever i flip through our pics in iPhoto, I get a kick out of how much the kid has changed in the nearly five months she’s been loitering around the condo.

She’s literally more than double the size of the seven pounder we brought back from the hospital way back in January. She’s also a lot more vocal now, practicing her “UmmmUmmmUmmmUmmmUmmms” constantly, especially when her parents are trying to concentrate on something of utmost importance, like watching Battlestar Galactica.

My theory regarding her desire to talk? Through her daily observations she’s come to the realization that the sooner she gets this “talking stuff” down the sooner she’ll be able to send Daddy out to the supermarket for anything her heart desires—just like Mommy does. Oy, they grow up fast!
