Jill Reads to Lucy

Jill reads to the kid every day. Below is a snippet of a reading she did in October. I wanted to test out a microphone, so I plopped it next to them while they read “The Color Kittens”, a Golden Book. (The noise in the background is a noise machine that Jill can’t live without.)

It’d be great to get some complete book readings. I think I may have to record a few during the holiday break.

BJ Penn Book Signing

The main sport I follow these days is MMA and BJ Penn is my favorite fighter, so I thought I’d go down to a book signing he was doing in San Jose Friday night.

I thought there’d be a couple of hundred people there and that I’d be in and out in an hour or so. Boy, was I wrong! The book store was packed. I asked an employee how many people had shown up and he estimated somewhere between 800 – 1000 people. Crazy.

I ended up sticking it out, got an autograph and a handshake. Luckily, everyone in line was friendly, so the few hours we spent together in line weren’t too bad. Penn looked pretty tired and had sunglasses due to a tough loss the previous week in Abu Dhabi.

Goodbye, February 2010

We just got back from a get-together at my mom’s place. It was great getting caught up, eating (of course), and just relaxing. Lucy got a chance to play with her cousins. She gets so excited, flapping her arms and constantly moving about. Her cousins must constantly tell her to stay in one place when they play catch because Lucy can’t stand still.

February hasn’t been the best of months. A good friend had a bit of a rough month health-wise. Fortunately, though things were looking a little hairy for a while, he’s doing a lot better now.
