Birthday

A Birthday Party

A Birthday Party from Mike C on Vimeo.

Gpa Tom came to visit yesterday. We then all went to a birthday party for some friends in Morgan Hill. It was their son’s very first birthday, a very notable occasion.

Lucy was very excited, especially when she saw the park, grass, balloons, and all the people. She even got a lady bug (her favorite kind!) painted on her arm. The bug looked great (until Lucy rubbed her eye, smearing her ladybug and making herself look like an extra from A Clockwork Orange in the same motion).

Cousins

Today was Gma Vita’s birthday party, combined with a going away party for Auntie Nina and Uncle Larry.

In addition to her aunts and uncles and the birthday Gma, Lucy got to see a big chunk of her cousins. She loves to hang out with the big kids!

She was very happy to be included in their hide-and-seek game, and hid very well (without her usual “I’m in here!” shouts to give her away).

When we got home (and after a sufficiently refreshing nap) she proudly told us her cousins were all big girls, and that she was a big girl too.

p.s. Good luck in your new home, Nina and Larry! We’ll miss you!

Planting a Tree for Gma Susan

This past week would have been Gma Susan’s 65th birthday. To mark the occasion, we got together with Gpa Peter, John, and Laura to celebrate. In the middle of the dog, cat, and cupcake fun we made time to plant a Magnolia Susan tree for Gma. Happy Birthday, Susan.

The Kid Turns Two!

Happy 2nd Birthday

Boy, the kid’s 6 month and 1 Year birthdays seem like they just happened, and now she’s pulling the TWO card on us! Is this even possible? Has the kid actually been parked in the condo for 24 whole months? (Wubert just piped in saying it seems longer.)

Of course, L’s mom is always looking for an excuse for cake and ice cream, so we decided to celebrate. The whole ‘Hawaii Gang’ (Gpa Peter, Uncle John, Auntie Laura) came over to add to the festivities.

L also got a “Happy Birthday” serenade from her Gpa Tom and Gma Karen via the phone. Pretty cool!

Gma Vita’s Party

08-06-2008

Here are a few pics from Gma Vita’s Birthday party. Lucy loves any chance she gets to mingle w/ “the big kids” (basically any and all of her cousins!) She also knows that get-togethers usually mean lumpia is involved.

You can view more photos by clicking here.

Happy Birthday, Lucy!

Today Lucy is one and a half years old. Happy Birthday, Lucy!

How time flies! She has changed so much, esp. in the last half year since she’s been a walker (and runner and climber).

Today we will celebrate with ice cream and Grandmommy! Hooray!

Birthday Cake

Grandmommy had a birthday party this weekend, and Lucy and I baked a cake for her.

First we mixed it: Then we baked it:

Then we frosted it: And gave it to G’mommy:

who let Lucy be the first to test it:

and finally, best of all, we ate it:

Happy Birthday Grandmommy!

The Kid Turns One

01-11-2007

Today’s L’s birthday. Yep, the kid hit the big "1" today. Boy, that was fast! Anyway, I’m sure we’ll be posting a few more pics re: this momentous event throughout Friday and the rest of the weekend, so as Wubert would say, "*keep your eyes peeled" for more photos.

More pics here.

* actually, Wubert’s sayings tend to go on forever, ala "keep your eyes peeled, your whiskers sproingy, your tail straight, and your points pointy, and…etc, etc", so I cut it short here to save space.
