Lucy’s Big City Adventure

Yesterday Lucy and I made a trip up to the big city (San Francisco) to visit Auntie and Uncle and see a few sights. I have misplaced my camera, so Auntie took all the pics…and boy what a difference a real photographer makes! See Auntie Laura’s great photostory here.

We went to a pottery studio to make hand and foot prints of Lucy…bought some pretty, tasty pastry…went to the best beach for doggy-watching and wind-surfing in SF (Crissy Field) and met a cute pup…

I am just a little obsessed with Vertigo, and have always wanted to do the Vertigo tour, to see all the sites that were in the movie (at least, those that are left), so I made the group stop by old Fort Point (first pic above)…one of the pivotal spots in the movie. It was breathtaking, though not at all deserted, so not as much of a Hitchcock vibe this time. I will be sure to find more spots for us to check out next time!

Hitchcockian Beach Day

Something about Half Moon Bay, and the drive there, always reminds me of Vertigo. This day especially the beach seemed like a perfect setting for one of Hitch’s movies. It was overcast, nearly deserted, and there were these birds….

Nothing sinister happened, it just looked…Hitchcockian. See for yourself.

Beach day with Grandmommy

We had a great time at the beach last week with Gmommy, we hope to do it again soon! It was a lovely 70 degrees while the valley was melting under 100 degree heat. Phew.

Here are some pics of Lucy’s first contact with cold, wet sand, and dry warm sand for that matter! (More pics here.)

She was a little wobbly at first, but quickly got her “sand legs.” She also went from scared of the surf to wanting to dash in without holding mommy’s hand pretty fast. My little danger seeker!

Beach day

It was really hot in the valley today (100 degrees!), so Lucy and I decided to go to the beach at Half Moon Bay.

She saw the Pacific up close and personal for the first time! She got to hold seaweed, saw lots of doggies, and watched the waves crashing and the tide go in and out. She definitely wants to come back!
