Lucy iPoster
I fired up the ol’ mac and whipped up a vaguely Mondrian-ish poster that will eventually find its way to the wall next to Lucy’s diaper changing table. It’ll be something to keep the kid occupied whenever she’s getting her diapers swapped out (ie, all the time).
iPhoto has a pretty seamless print-to-order system built into it, so Apple makes it real easy for shmucks like me to order prints, calendars, posters, books, etc., based on the pics I select. Basically, from within iPhoto, I just selected the pic I wanted printed, chose the 20 x 30 poster option, and bam–I’ll have a poster sent to my door within the next 3-5 days. Pretty cool.

w/ Gma Vita
A couple of pics w/ her gma that further illustrate how this kid is growing like a weed…that drools constantly and is always reaching for the remote. In the pic on the left, she probably weighs between 7.5 – 8.5 pounds. In the pic on the right I’m pretty sure she’s elbowed past 20.
“Stand aside ’20′, Girly-Girl is coming through!” the pinkish blur yelled, as she abruptly tossed poor ol’ 20 to the curb. Up ahead, right over the next hill, ’25′ started to feel a bit queasy.

Auntie Laura and the amazing sitting baby
Auntie Laura has a background in child development, and often notices some new ability in Lucy when she visits. At her last visit, while playing with one of Lucy’s favorite things, a roll of toilet paper (second only to pounding on the keyboard and using remotes, she loves the ‘crinkle crinkle’ of paper) Auntie noticed that Lucy was sitting up by herself, for a few seconds, before toppling over. Sorry About the Drool, Gma!
Phone rings. Answering machine whirs to life.
“Hi, this is Gma Susan…”
Mad scramble for the phone! Jill in her pink robe, hikes a sleeping Lucy to my outstretched arms while simultaneously hurdling a totally oblivious sleeping cat. Lucy wakes up during mid-toss and groggily thinks to herself, “Gma?” I catch the kid and immediately shout my encouragement to the terry-clothed pink blur. “Go, Girl! Go!” I cry!
“…and I was wondering if it was OK if I dropped by to see…”
Jill grabs the phone and the three of us shout our disjointed salutations in unison:
Jill: “Yes, mommy please come over!”
Mike: “…and pay no heed to speed limit signs! They’re merely suggestions.”
Lucy: *Drooly smile*

Gma Vita, Nick, and Lucy
I love this picture because Lucy looks so fascinated with Nick here. I imagine her trying to hold a conversation with him despite her (up to this point) very limited life experience and very focused areas of interest…
