Revisiting Uncle Jim’s Prophecy

“Don’t forget a pretty dress and fish magic wand and a silver crown…and tuna”

A little over two years ago, I made a post entitled Uncle Jim’s Prophecy.

From the original January, 2009 post:

Back in November, a few relatives from Jill’s side got a chance to visit. During the visit, Jill’s Uncle Jim told her that Lucy’s eventual adult height could be estimated by measuring the two-year old Lucy and multiplying her height by two.

So, since Lucy turned two this month, we thougt we’d give Uncle Jim’s theory a go. In the pics above, you can see Lucy dutifully standing next to the way awesome growth chart her Auntie Laura made for her. Between the chart and some measuring tape, we figure our two year old is about 34.5 inches tall (2 feet, 10.5 inches). Using Uncle Jim’s formula, that would make the adult Lucy about 69 inches, or 5′ 9″.

Today, Lucy is 41″ tall. She’s grown over half a foot in two years. Pretty amazing stuff. Will she reach 5’9″ (69″)? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
