Recording Session
“I’m the pretty princess. As soon as I go to sleep I’ll be the sleeping beauty!”
— Lucy’s take on Lucy
I got a microphone recently to use on video projects. It’s a Zoom H1, a really neat recording tool that basically looks like a toy.
Lucy was very interested in the H1, so I let her inspect it:
She gave it her approval and found it interesting enough to help me try it out. So we held an impromptu recording session with our new toy.
Here’s what we recorded:
- Lucy - Coconut I watched a Nilsson documentary on Netflix last night. Jill started singing along to this song and Lucy joined her. Maybe she’ll start singing “Me and My Arrow” or “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father” sometime.
- Lucy - Happy Birthday One of the kid’s favorite songs. She especially likes the “…and many more!” part.
- Lucy - Applebee Jill will have to pipe in on this song’s origin.
- Lucy - Felix the Cat I like the yawn mid-way through.
- Lucy - Counting The kid can count higher than 12. This was the last thing we recorded and she was getting a bit tired of it.

Yeah, these were fun to do. She got a real kick out of “cutting tracks.”
