Frances
We’ve all been a little under the weather for the past week, going through lots of tissues, tea, and cough drops. I’m actually writing this blog post at 1:00 am on a Monday morning because of my scratchy throat. Lucy’s been a real trooper, keeping up with her normal day to day activities (including serenading Wubert) and has generally being pretty un-whiney for being a sick kid.
Luckily, one thing that has made this time more bearable has been Frances, by Russell Hoban. I actually think Jill and I enjoy Frances more than Lucy at this point, but the kid humors us and what can I say, Frances is way cool.
We’ve been re-reading the books to Lucy, and over the weekend we actually discovered a few Frances cartoons. Thanks Mr. Hoban for all the enjoyment you’ve given us, especially during this tough time. We salute you (in between sneezes).

I love Frances!! Bread and jam is my favorite. I love the pictures of the lunch, especially the egg, and how they eat a bit of each and make it come out even at the end. Who knew badgers could be so cute. HOpe you guys are feeling better!

Jill was reading “A Birthday for Frances” to Lucy when I got home. One of these days the kid will be the one doing the reading and we’ll be the listeners!
