A Walk in the Oval

Jill took this quick one minute video of the kid bouncing around at the Stanford Oval on Friday. Something about it really got to me.
Maybe it’s just seeing Lucy running around such a wide open, beautiful space with so much glee and promise. The wind in the mic, the kid trying to soak up and experience as much as she can, running forward as fast as she can (w/ no visible adult holding her hand/slowing her down), her mom looking out for her. It’s pretty neat.

Think of how big that place must seem to her–like it goes on forever!
The way she was walking and holding her arms out at the beginning reminded me of the opening to “That Girl”!
