A Real Page Turner
The kid’s progress seems to be on an especially accelerated course right now. Example: two weeks ago she couldn’t crawl forward. She also had a low rate of success whenever attempting to sit upright.
Now, she’s zooming around the place, going here and there like some jumbo-sized, drooling bug on a mission (w/ a sweet disposition, of course). The kid is so dedicated to crawling that she even continues her crawling motions during the times I pick her up and carry her back to her designated “safe crawling” zone.
She also has developed a very effective technique for transitioning from a lying down position to sitting upright. Basically, w/ a single quick motion, she turns her body so that her weight rests on her right hand. From there, she swings her left hand toward the ceiling. For an instant, she looks remarkably similar to how Juan Marichal used to look right before throwing a pitch:
From this position she swings her left hand down, uses her right hand to propel herself from the pink carpet’s gravitational pull, and at the conclusion of the process finds herself in a sitting position. It’s pretty neat.
She’s changing so fast now. We all look forward to what she’ll be doing a few weeks from now, but that’s another chapter.

She loves that page with the basket on it! “My World” is another fave, evidenced by how chewed it is. That and any book of mine.

That’s good. However, I’m gonna have to tell her to “lay off” (Lucy translation: “Neng, Neng!) if she starts eyeing my Calvin & Hobbes books!
