Learning to Crawl (Forward)!
This past weekend was very momentous for us. The kid figured out how to crawl forward! Hooray!
Yep, until recently, if you’d asked Lucy to crawl forward you’d have about as much a chance of seeing it happen as witnessing her fulfill a request to play a barre chord (something her mom never figured out!) But something clicked for Lucy over the weekend. Her arms and legs (finally, kinda, sorta) worked together to propel the little bundle forward!
She was so proud. She gave a huge, pearly-gummed smile (‘cept for the two new almost there choppers) as she wobbled to and fro. She seemed to immediately sense that this newly acquired skill could be quite useful. Congratulations, kid–just don’t grow up too fast! I’d like to have a little more time w/ you before I feel like this guy.

Look at that form – she’s a ‘go go’ girl!! and very fast when she sees something she wants!!

She’s also pretty good at maneuvering from a lying down position to sitting upright all by herself. Pretty neat.
