Self Portraits, w/ the Kid

Thanks goodness for digital cameras w/ LCD screens that swivel! Actually, this reminds me of…

< warning: an old guy is about to reminisce >
…my first digital camera was a Kodak DC20 I got way back in ’96 or ’97. At the time it was the cheapest way to get into digital photography. Check out these wicked DC20 specs:

  • No Flash (just take pics during the day–you’ll be OK!)
  • No LCD screen (who needs an LCD anyway? What is this, Future-World? Yeah, I got your LCD—I left it in my other hovercraft.)
  • No memory expansion slot (who needs expansion? You can take 8 whole pictures w/ this camera before it’s full anyway.)

Yep, by today’s standards the DC20 sounds totally lame, but at the time it had the total “Gee Whiz!” factor.

“You mean that picture I just took—I can see it on my computer? Yeah, right! I suppose I can see it in my hovercraft too, huh? Get outta here!”
