Hurry up and wait
Well, Baby C. still hasn’t arrived. We’ve reached the first estimated due date today (the more accurate est. is Tuesday). I guess this is the ‘hurry up and wait’ phase.
A few weeks ago, we were so worried that it would happen too soon–so we hastily got prepared, packed our bags, stowed the baby seat in the car, and held our breath.
Now that we are ready, it seems we’ve been waiting for a long, long time. Every day we get a call or email from someone, wondering if it’s happened. Nope! Nothing! Nada! We aren’t withholding, there is just nothing to tell.
She seems very comfortably stowed in my tummy and doesn’t show any urgency to come out. Sure, she turns over, stretches and pokes me, (and won’t share her space with certain organs), but no rush for the exit. No aches or pains indicating imminent arrival.
On the plus side, I can safely say that it’s been the easiest pregnancy of anyone I’ve talked to. (Other mothers have reported backaches, sciatica, 9-month nausea or having to sleep sitting up.) I feel fine. My cold is gone, thanks to Hello Kitty humidifier. I am big as a house, sure, and sometimes bump into things because I don’t realize how far I stick out, but that’s about it.
So I guess there is nothing wrong with waiting. This is probably the last of the easy stuff!

I’ve got the easy job here. Let’s see: get a ‘Hello Kitty” humidifier, don’t misplace car keys, make sure to have charged cell phone on my person at all times. That’s about it. Yep, no complaints here!
